JJ Roupe, the owner and founder of Birmingham Baseball Performance—the predecessor of USA Prime Birmingham—has established himself as one of the top private instructors and coaches in the region.

A Trussville native, JJ was a multi-sport standout at Hewitt-Trussville High School, serving as team captain and earning All-Metro honors as a catcher in baseball, while also excelling as a wide receiver and quarterback in football. Prior to his senior year, JJ signed a Division I baseball scholarship with Jacksonville State University. Following his collegiate baseball career, he transitioned to football and signed with Samford University, where he played wide receiver under former Auburn great and Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan.

JJ has been a professional instructor for nine years. His coaching experience includes serving as the hitting coach for Hewitt-Trussville High School’s baseball program and as the varsity wide receivers coach for the football team. He also coached at Oak Mountain High School, where he held roles as Wide Receivers Coach and Co-Offensive Coordinator. Additionally, JJ gained valuable recruiting and operations experience at the collegiate level, working in football operations for Samford University under Head Coach Chris Hatcher.

In 2025, JJ expanded his leadership role in the baseball community by becoming the CEO of USA Prime Southeast.

JJ is married to Rachel, and together they have three children: Brayden, Addie Kate, and Anna Claire.
